NLC India signs MoU with Rajasthan for setting up power projects

New Delhi, Mar 10 (UNI) State-owned NLC India on Sunday said that it has signed a MoU with the Rajasthan government for formation of a joint venture (JV) to set up a 125 MW lignite-based power plant and a 1000 MW solar power plant.
"The MoU between NLC India Limited and RVUNL (Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd) entails a staggering investment of more than Rs 7,000 crores," the company said in a media release.
Among the projects the MoU outlines the establishment of a 125 MW lignite pit-head thermal power plant in Bikaner district and a 1,000 MW solar power plant.
Additionally, a Letter of Intent (LoI) for setting up of a 810 MW solar power plant has already been issued.
"This is in line with the corporate plan of NLC India to become a power major of 17 GW capacity with more than 6 GW renewable capacity by 2030," NLC India said.
