CM Bommai grants Rs 5 cr to set up FKCCI's centre for excellence

Bengaluru, Sep 15 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has recommended a grant of Rs 5 crore for establishment of FKCCI’s “Center of Excellence” to be set up at Dabaspet.
The centre will be established with the help of Industries Minister Murugesh R Nirani and the Industry and Commerce Department.
"Chief Minister Shri Basavaraj Bommai had recommended a grant of Rs 5 crore for establishment of FKCCI’s “Center of Excellence” to be setup at Dabaspet with the support of Large and Medium Scale Industry Minister, Dr Murugesh R Nirani and our Industry and Commerce Department," FKCCI President CAIS Prasad said in a statement here.
Earlier the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce of Commerce and Industry conferred the prestigious ‘Bharat Ratna’ Sir M Visvesvaraya Award on Dr MR Jaishankar, who is chairman and MD of Brigade Enterprises Limited.
The honour was bestowed on him on the occasion of FKCCI’s Founders’ Day 2022.
Accepting the award via video presentation, Jaishankar said, "I am deeply humbled to receive the ‘Bharat Ratna’ Sir M Visvesvaraya Award. It is a proud moment to be conferred this prestigious award which is a dream come true not only for me but for anybody in the field of construction. Without doubt Sir M Visvesvaraya has been the greatest civil engineer our country has ever produced. His vision, genius, statesmanship and dedication to work for the good of the people is unparalleled. I am grateful to FKCCI for receiving the recognition in Sir M Visvesvaraya’s name."

Jaishankar has been ranked 27 among the top CEOs of India and ranked second in the real estate and construction sector by business today in recognition of Dr Jaishankar's services, the Bengaluru University had conferred Honorary Doctorate Degree and notable service in April 2022.
