MTR to expand its plant in Guntur in AP

Hyderabd, Feb 29 (UNI) Focusing on the Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, MTR Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of Norwegian conglomerate Orkla, is planning to expand its existing plant in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, with an investment of Rs 30 crore.
Addressing a press conference here on Thursday on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the company, Mr. Sunay Bhasin, CEO of MTR, said.
With an overall investment of 100 crores in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh in the last three years, MTR is deeply committed to strengthening its presence in this region.
Over the past century, MTR has witnessed the changing culinary landscape and adapted its offerings accordingly. From traditional masalas to ready-to-eat meals, MTR has aimed to maintain relevance across generations, he said.
Telangana and Andhra Pradesh stand as the second-largest and fastest-growing markets in India, he said.
By customizing the products to suit the regional palate, the brand has delivered the products that consumers admire. MTR’s Sambar Powder, Rasam Powder, Gulab Jamun Mixes, and now Rice Masala, a range of Podis, Masala Karam, and more are testament to the dedication to delivering flavors that resonate with the region, he said.
Mr. Sunay expressed, "Rather than adopting a one-size-fits-all approach, MTR places a strong emphasis on comprehending local nuances and customizing its products to fulfill the varied requirements of consumers. As we celebrate 100 years, we also celebrate our commitment and resolve to continue growing in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh."
As a part of the 100-year celebration, MTR will host the extravagant and loved food festival, "Telugu Ruchulu," featuring local chefs and celebrating the rich heritage and flavors of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, he added.
