Kathmandu, Jan 21 (UNI) Nepal's Rastra Bank (central bank) has banned the Indian currency notes of Rs 200, Rs 500 and Rs 2,000 denominations, which the people in the Himalayan nation have been using for nearly two years now.
According to the analysts here, the move could affect Indian tourists visiting Nepal where Indian currency is widely used.
Nepal Rastra Bank on Sunday issued a circular prohibiting Nepali travellers, banks and financial institutions from holding or carrying and trading Indian currency notes higher than Rs 100, the Kathmandu Post reported.
