Talking to media here today, Ms Sahu said, she had visited Sambalpur, Puri, Angul, Nimapara and Bhubaneswar during her four-day stay in Odisha in connection with some women atrocity cases and wanted to discuss five such cases with the DGP.The NCW member said since the DGP did not meet her she had decided to apprise some cases before the media. Ms Sahu alleged that a day before the visit of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to Sambalpur on February 27 last, the Police arrested as many as eleven women from their houses during midnight, violating the Supreme Court guidelines.As per the Supreme Court guidelines only in certain serious allegation like involvement in anti-national or Maoist activities a woman could be arrested. There was no such situation on February 26 she said and asked the DGP to take action against the Officer who had issued the arrest order.
