Navy Week-2019 celebrated in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Dec 4 (UNI) As part of Navy Week 2019, a wreath laying ceremony was conducted at War Memorial, Secunderabad on Wednesday.

A get together was organised for defence civilians, veterans and serving sailors of Hyderabad Station today.

A large number of veterans, serving sailors and defence civilians attended the event with their families.

The forthcoming events being conducted as part of Navy Week celebrations are Naval Band Concert at IKEA, Hyderabad on December 8, blood donation camp ( from December 20 to 22 ) in coordination with Red Cross and visit of school children to the ships and facilities of the Eastern Naval Command, Visakhapatnam, a defence statement here said.

The Naval Band Concert at IKEA being held on December 8 at 1800 hrs is open for general public and entry to the event is on first come first serve basis.

Navy Day is celebrated on December 4 every year by Indian Navy across the country to commemorate Indian Navy's successful and spectacular execution of “Op Trident” resulting in India's victory over Pakistan in 1971.
Theme of the Navy Week this year is “ Indian Navy-Silent, Strong and Swift”, the statement added.
