Naveen seeks realignment of Digha-Jaleswar Broad-gauge Railway line

Bhubaneswar, Jan 21 (UNI) Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today requested the Union government to change the alignment of the Digha-Jaleswar Broad-gauge Railway line for its early completion and help in the development of tourism and improving the socio-economic condition of the region.
In a letter to Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, the chief minister said the proposed realignment will pass through Odisha touching various pilgrim and tourists places like Bhubaneswar, Chandaneswar and Talsari-Udaypur beach.
The 41km Digha-Jaleswar Broad gauge Railway line was sanctioned during 2011-12. While 34 KM of the project is to be passed through Balasore district in Odisha ,7 KM is to be passed through West Bengal.
