Bengaluru, Sep 21 (UNI) IT industrires national body NASSCOM today said India can position itself from a software technology major to innovator of embedded technology, including the automobile industry. Speaking at the NASSCOM 'Design and Engineering Summit', President R Chandresekhar said Embedded technology growing at a fast pace at 13 CAGR ahead of the IT industry will bring bright returns to the Indian IT industry and as the Automobile industry gets the focus besides several other industrires where IT sector will be expanding itself providing the expertice. He said the industry body was now expanding and embedded technology provided the future for Indian IT industry. At USD 24 billion the Indian embedded industry has the best growth path among all IT sectors and we will pursue it, he said at the 9th edition of the event. Further, Sector Skills Council (SSC) of NASSCOM also launched the ‘Foundation Skills in IoT’ courseware at an exclusive round-table held at the event, in the presence of industry stalwarts who addressed the reskilling and skilling imperatives for digital relevance. The event witnessed discussions on data-driven design and digital product experiences, to gender diverse innovation to the artificial intelligence revolution. Mr Chandrasekhar, on the sidelines of the summit said, the summit highlighted the IT industry's leadership in the renaissance of emerging technologies. 'The discussions have given us an insight into the future, and how organizations can poise themselves well to stay ahead of the curve'. Platforms like the NASSCOM Design & Engineering Summit are designed to bring digital into the DNA of businesses of today and tomorrow, he said. NASSCOM driving the IoT said it will be helpful in engineering education and will also help create employment prospects. Iot courseware can address many fields including applications in architecture, industry applications and use cases in various sectors like Aerospace, Agriculture, Automotive, Construction, Energy, Healthcare, Logistics, Manufacturing, Retail and Transportation; course end project work is a mandatory inclusion offering practical exposure. Mr Samit Yagnik COO of Tata Technologies said IoT entiles convergence of both people and businesses in the face of an technology disruption. 'This makes it even more imperative for us to equip and upskill our IT workforce if we want our talent to stay pertinent'.
