New Delhi, Jul 25 (UNI) Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Vijay Goel today said Narsingh Yadav (74kg) can represent India in the upcoming Rio games in August, provided the National Anti-Doping disciplinary panel (NADA) exonerates him. On being questioned about the chances of the grappler going to Rio, the Minister put it in clear words that since the probe is still on, it will not be appropriate for him to answer. 'Narsingh Yadav suspended provisionally, will be allowed to go if National Anti-Doping disciplinary panel (NADA) exonerates him,' Mr Goel said. 'He is under provisional suspension, so 119 athletes will represent India in Rio. Right now, full inquiry is not complete, so can't say if Narsingh Yadav will go to Rio or not.' he added, on the sidelines of the event 'Run for Rio'. In a bid to create 'Olympic Fever' in the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off 'Run for Rio' event at India Gate, here on July 31. Earlier in the day, Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) put its weight behind Narsingh Yadav (74 kg), who tested positive for a banned substance in a random dope test, conducted by the NADA. 'We believe Narsingh is innocent, federation feels that injustice has been done with him. We will back Narsingh to every extent, hope committee does justice. He has given this in writing that its a conspiracy against him and I also feel the same, ' WFI President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh told mediapersons here today. He further asserted that Narsingh's room partner Sandeep Tulsi Yadav had also tested positive for the same. 'Narsingh Yadav and his room partner Sandeep Tulsi Yadav both have tested positive for the same banned steroid, it clearly tells you the story. He will now appear for the final NADA hearing on Wednesday,' Mr Singh added. UNI GAU RJ SB 1717
