Nagaland CM appeals to make people value hard work during Manipur Naga festival

Imphal, Feb 14 (UNI) Mr T R Zeliang, Chief Minister of Manipur, today made his rendezvous with the Naga tribes of Manipur at Ukhrul during Lui Ngai Ni festival. Zeliang said there is nothing Non Christian in celebrating the traditional festivals of the Nagas. He said the younger generation should know the value of hard work.
The Lui Ngai Ni a post harvest festival is celebrated in Manipur on February 15. But this year it is celebrated for two days on February 14 and 15 at different venues with joint participation by 17 Naga tribes of Manipur. Zeliang said our forefathers celebrated after working hard. He said Naga of Nagaland also celebrate Horn Bill festivals , likewise every Naga tribes of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh also celebrate their own festivals.
Zeliang mooted the idea of a common Naga festival to showcase the unique Naga culture. He said state boundaries cannot be altered but if the idea remains a time will come when all will unite under a common umbrella.
