New Delhi, Sep 23 (UNI) BJP president on Wednesday hailed the passage of Labour bills in Parliament and congratulated the Modi government for bringing in such extensive and historic labour reforms.
'Today, the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020, the Industrial Relations Code 2020 & the Code on Social Security, 2020 has been passed in Rajya Sabha,' he said.
Thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi for such extensive & historic labour reforms, he said, ' These codes aims to reform India's archaic labour laws & expand their ambit to provide healthy and safe working environment for 50 crore workers.'
He pointed out that the Government was very sensitive to migrant labourers, adding that for the first time several provisions have been made for their welfare in this code.
Mr Nadda congratulated the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the passage of the Jammu and Kashmir Official Languages Bill in Parliament.
'I heartily congratulate the sisters and brothers of Jammu and Kashmir on the passage of the Jammu and Kashmir Official Languages Bill-2020 in the Rajya Sabha and also Prime Minister Narendra Modi for meeting this demand which went unheard for over 70 years,' he tweeted in Hindi.
He said with the passage of this historic bill, Kashmiri, Dongri, Urdu, Hindi and English will get the status of official languages, adding that this was an important step for the development of regional languages ​​of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Modi government is committed to the cultural preservation and development of Jammu and Kashmir, he opined.
Three labour code bills which would provide social security to the country's labour force, were approved by Parliament on Wednesday with the Rajya Sabha passing the prposed legislations -- The Industrial Relations Code, 2020, The Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020 and The Code of Social Security, 2020.
These Bills have already passed by the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.
A bill to include Kashmiri, Dogri and Hindi as official languages of Jammu and Kashmir in addition to English and Urdu, got Parliament's nod on Wednesday with the Rajya Sabha passing it by a voice vote.
The draft law was approved by the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.
