N Delhi Dist Admin opposes Central move to lease out National Stadium space for housing govt offices

New Delhi, Jan 20 (UNI) In what may be a disheartening news for sports lovers, the Centre is learnt to have proposed to lease out a large portion of the National Stadium for housing government offices, evoking a strong protest from the district administration.
In a city choking with concrete structures, further constricting spaces for sports would be 'disheartening', SDM, New Delhi Aman Gupta has conveyed to the Ministry of Sports in a letter, a copy of which has been accessed by UNI.
The SDM learnt of the plan on a recent visit to the stadium after which he shot off a letter to the Secretary of the Ministry expressing his strong disagreement with the move.
