Mystery behind missing of 3 silver lion idols unravelled, 2 arrested

Vijayawada, Jan 23 (UNI) The mystery behind the disappearance of three silver idols of lions from the Kanaka Durga temple chariot was unravelled by the police by arresting two persons and seizing 15.4 Kg silver bricks from them.
Informing this at a press conference here on Saturday, Commissioner of police B Srinivasulu said that the accused number one, Jakkampudi Saibaba was a petty thief and he found the chariot at Durga temple on which four silver idols of lions were embellished it without security cover.
The accused in June 2020, removed three silver lion idols from the chariot and took them away. He sold the silver idols to gold trader M Kamalesh. The silver lion idols were melted and made as silver moulds.
