MP’s Rubi Kaur outlasts Bengal's Mondira to enter Women 50+ semifinals

Indore, Feb 15 (UNI) Rubi Kaur of Madhya Pradesh struggled before overcoming her West Bengal opponent, Mondira Sur, to enter the Women 50+ semifinals of the 26th Masters National Table Tennis Championships at the Abhay Prashal here on Friday.
Among the quarterfinals played in three women sections(40+, 50+ and 60+), the match between Rubi and Mondira proved to be the best for its intensity as well as determination as Rubi, opening well, was under pressure by the third game, trailing 1-2. She must have lost her hope even in the fourth as Mondira was well on her way to seal her fate.
However, the change of fortune for the MP women happened when she managed to deuce and from there take the next two points to level the score. And in the decider, she pressed home the advantage to sew it up without wasting time to win 3-2.
