Mohun Bagan conceded 3 goals against South China, Hong Kong

Guwahati, May 11 (UNI) Group topper Mohun Bagan today conceded first defeat in the AFC Cup Group G league concluding game against South China, Hong Kong, by 0-3 here today that helped the overseas side to move into the last 16.
Though the play was inconsequential for the Mariners, the win put the rivals into round of 16 by being the runners up to Mohun Bagan. Coach Sanjay Sen had fielded a second string side for Mohun Bagan andconceded three goals in a span of fourteen in the first half.Lew Hue Chang began struck in the 19th minute for South China at theIndira Gandhi Stadium, Rayan Griffth made double for the side five minutes later andMahama Awal completed the score in the 33rd minute to lead the side into the round of 16 by being runners up to Mohun Bagan in Group G. Mohun Bagan eyeing the first silverware in this season with Federation Cupalready made to the Round of 16 of the AFC Cup.
With 11 points from 6 games, Mohun Bagan already qualified for the Round of 16, followed by South China of Hong Kong (9 points). Mohun Bagan will host Tampines Rovers of Singapore in the single legpre-quarter final match of the AFC Cup to be played in Guwahati on May 24. Mohun Bagan will stay in the north-east and play their second ledsemi-final match against Shillong Lajong on May 14.
