Durban, Jul 9 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived here early this morning from Johannesburg on the last leg of his visit to South Africa. Mr Modi will take a train ride to reach Pietermaritzburg, the very same station where Mahatma Gandhi was pushed out as he had refused to vacate a first-class carriage reserved for whites only. The Prime Minister, who is on a four-nation tour to the African continent, will have a brief train journey to reach this hill station, which is fully decked up to receive him. Mr Modi will also visit the Phoenix settlement, a place very closely associated with Gandhiji’s stay in South Africa. He will also attend a meeting of the Alumni Network and a reception in his honour, being hosted by the Mayor of Durban and the Indian High Commissioner to South Africa, before leaving for Tanzania this evening on the third leg of his four-nation African tour.
