Slovakia Nov 9 (UNI) Despite firing 12 aces and no double fault and 73 per cent first service in, sixth seed Ramkumar Ramanathan of India made his exit from men's singles in the 106,000 Euro Peugeot Slovak Challenger Tour Open in Slovakia.
Matthias Bachinger of Germany defeated Ramanathan in three setter second round match by 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 in one hour and 28 minutes.
Matthias Bachinger had four aces to his credit and one double fault. He recorded 71 per cent first service in. Bachinger won 80 per cent points on first service and 45 per cent on second service. He saved three out of five break points and won four break points out of five.
Ramanathan won 62 per cent points on first service and 53 per cent on second service. He could save a lone break point out of five. He won two break points out of five.
Partnering with Andrei Vasilevski of Belarus, Ramanathan, however, moved into doubles semi-final where they face Spanish pair of Gerard Granollers and David Marrero. Ramanathan-Vasilevski defeated Slovakia duo of Andrej Martin and Filip Polasek 4-6, 6-3, 10-8.
Purav Raja of India and Antonio Sancic of Croatia were beaten by top seeded Great Britain pair of Jonny O'Mara and Ken Skupsi 4-6, 6-4, 10-6 in doubles quarter-final match in one hour and 12 minutes.
