MHA declares 18 Pakistan nationals as terrorists under amended UAPA

New Delhi, Oct 27 (UNI) The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Tuesday declared 18 Pakistan nationals as terrorists under the amended provisions of Unlawful Activity (Prevention) Act, 1967, who have been involved in terror activities against India during different time frame and were wanted by the Indian security agencies.
These ultras belong to proscribed terror groups like Lashkar-e-Toiba, Falah-i-lnsaniyat Foundation, Hizb-ul-Mujahideen, Jaish-e-Mohammad and Indian Mujahideen, with most of them hiding in Pakistan.
According to a list issued by the MHA here, Sajid Mir, one of the key conspirators of Mumbai 26/11 attack in 2008, has been described as Pakistan-based LeT's top commander.
The other prominent names in the list include most wanted terrorist Dawood Ibrahim's right hand man, Chhota Shakeel and the Bhatkal brothers of the Indian Mujahideen.
The MHA, in a statement said, 'These individuals are involved in various acts of terrorism from across the border and have been relentless in their nefarious efforts of destabilising the country.'

As per the MHA list, Sajid Mir alias Sajid Majeed, the top LeT Commander, was one of the main planners of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, while Yusuf Muzammil alias Ahmad Bhai alias Yousuf Muzammil Butt, the Commander of LeT operations in Jammu and Kashmir, was an accused in the 26/11 Mumbai Terror attack.

Dreaded terrorist Hafiz Saeed's brother-in-law, US-based Abdur Rehman Makki alias Abdul Rehman Makki has also been named in this list. Makki is the Chief LeT and Head of LeT political affairs and served as Head of LeT's foreign relations department.
Shahid Mehmood alias Shahid Mehmood Rehmatullah, the Deputy Chief of proscribed organisation Falah-i-lnsaniyat Foundation (FIF), a frontal organisation of terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
Farhatullah Ghori alias Abu Sufiyan alias Sardar Sahab was named for his involvement in attack on Akshardham Temple (2002) and suicide attack on Task Force office in Hyderabad (2005).
Abdul Rauf Asghar alias Mufti alias Mufti Asghar had involvement in setting up of training camps in Pakistan for recruitment and militant training and was named key conspirator in the terrorist attack (December 13, 2001) on Indian Parliament House in New Delhi.
