New Delhi, Sep 11 (UNI) A day after Congress-sponsored Bharat Bandh, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Tuesday blamed both the BJP and the Congress for the fuel price hike in the country.
'BJP and Congress are equally responsible for diesel-petrol price hike,' the BSP chief told mediapersons.
'Yesterday, Bharat Bandh was held in protest against constant rise in prices of diesel and petrol. Our party mainly holds BJP and Congress responsible for this situation,' she said.
The BSP leader said, 'Present BJP led NDA Government on October 18, 2014, within six months of Government formation kept diesel price out of the administrative control like petrol and presented this decision as the biggest economic reform in the country.'
She said similar attitude was adopted by the Congress during UPA-II and in June 2010 , the Congress kept Petrol out of administrative control of the government. The BSP leader said that not only the present government led by BJP was adopting the wrong economic policies, but it was taking them forward
by bringing financial emergency through demonetisation and an immature and hasty way of implementing GST.
She said BJP led NDA Government at the Centre has adopted the same economic policy by which the Congress became unpopular and lost the 2014 general elections.
