Manipur medical fraternity withdraws white alert, black day protests

Imphal, Apr 22 (UNI) The Indian Medical Association, Manipur State Branch (IMA-MSB) today announced that “White Alert” scheduled for today and “Black Day” scheduled for tomorrow have been withdrawn.
Dr. Shyamkumar Laishram, President IMA Manipur said the decision was taken after a high powered meeting held today morning under the chairmanship of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and members of the Indian Medical Association.
In the meeting the Home Minister and Health Minister of India acknowledged and praised IMA and the medical community for their great efforts & sacrifice during these testing times.

Patna, May 7 (UNI) Despite all efforts of the Election Commission and other stalwarts to attract the voters to the booths to exercise their franchise, polling in the third phase of the elections in five seats namely Jhanjharpur, Supaul , Araria, Madhepura and Khagaria in Bihar had marginal increase of 1.42 percent compared to the second phase of the polling but was still 1.22 percent less than the last Lok Sabha elections held in 2019 in the same five constituencies.

Kolkata, May 7 (UNI) Reacting to the Supreme Court order for interim stay on Calcutta High Court's decision, which declared the entire panel of 2016 SSC teachers' recruitment null and void, the BJP on Tuesday said, " Our stand remains the same for justice to the qualified candidates" in the alleged recruitment scam.
