Manipur government provides assistance to migrant workers

Imphal, Apr 13 (UNI) Manipur government provided food items to migrant workers who were stranded in the city areas.
The Imphal West District administration and various NGOs provided 10,360 verified stranded migrant population with rations such as rice, dal, salt and cooking oil in the wake of COVID-19 lockdown.
In the district, 1,285 workers were also given shelter and food by employers/industry where they were working. The migrant workers were mostly engaged as daily wage earners.
