Manipur fixes prices of essential commodities

Imphal, Apr 25 (UNI) Manipur government has ordered all shops in the state to exhibit the prices of 17 essential items in front of their shops from Sunday onwards to keep a check on price hike.
The government has announced the prices of 17 essential items under Section 3 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.
Various students’ organizations and people had voiced their opposition to the sudden hike in prices of essential commodities specially rice, pulses, sugar, potato etc. after the government announced night curfew and opening of shops on rotation bases in view of the rise in Covid cases.
