Manipur experiences bad weather, life affected

Imphal, Apr 16 (UNI) Strong wind and hail storm has affected life in Manipur since last evening.
Rooftops of several houses have been blown away by the strong winds.People had to move to safe places as their houses were damaged. Several uprooted trees have damaged electric and telephone poles in many places. Some areas of the state experienced power cut.
The IMD has predicted rough weather and heavy rainfall for the next few days. However, some are of the view that rainfall at this time will be helpful as there is acute shortage of water. Normal water supply had been disrupted since March and functioning of major water supply centres remained disturbed due to low level of water sources.
