Imphal, Sep 3 (UNI) Chief Minister N. Biren Singh today chaired a meeting on the formulation of a Composite Plan for Development of Agriculture & Allied Sector today in the CM's Secretariat.
The meeting discussed the issues pertaining to Manipur State with the objective of targeting self-sufficiency in agriculture and horticulture production of selected products where the State has huge potentials and to concentrate our limited resources on achieving the maximum output by way of adopting systematic and scientific approach in an organised manner.
After a power-point presentation and minute discussions, the meeting decided on setting up six Committees focus specifically on enhancing the productivity, increasing the area of cultivation, improving the varieties of seeds and ensuring proper back up of financing through appropriate Schemes, State support and credit facilities, processing infrastructure and marketing on the following identified agriculture and horticulture products.
