Manipur beat England 7-4, USA trounce India A 13-2 in Manipur Polo

Imphal Nov 23 (UNI) Manipur representing India B began their campaign in the 12th Manipur Polo International with a fluent 7-4 win over England. Kaoba opened the account for the host in 1.05th minute of the 1st chukkar. Pradeep then added two more goals in quick succession with huge hits from near the half line. Ben Eeley then pulled one back for England through a penalty in the 2.57thminute to make it 3-1. The Manipur team added one more goal through P Ojit towards the end of this chukker to lead 4-1.
Just as it appeared that Manipur team is going to run away with the match, England came back strongly in the 2nd and 3rdchukkar. In the 2nd chukkar, the Manipur team failed to add to their tally while for England Ben Eeley again scored with a massive hit towards the end. Even though England did not add any more goals in the 3rd chukkar, they managed to keep the local team at Bay.
In the last chukkar Manipur took the game away from the English players by firing in three more goals. This chukkar proved highly rewarding for Ojit as he scored all he three goals in the 3.47th, , 4.29th and 5.30 minute. England did manage to score two more goals through Henry Amor from a penalty and George Shelton in the end of the match but that just was not enough. Manipur emerged winners by 7-4.
