Thane, Sep 24 (UNI) A 29- year-old man from Dahisar Mori in Thane district has been washed away in the floods following downpour since last night here, police said on Thursday.
Giving details, police said the victim, one Rizwan Khan of Daighar while crossing the flooded nullah, slipped and fell into the nullah and washed away last evening.
The frantic search was on, police said.
Following heavy rains, the several low lying areas were in Thane and adjoining Palghar district were flooded and places marooned on Wednesday.
The civic authorities also attended to numerous calls of flooding, tree falls, and a couple of cases of a compound wall collapse in Thane district.
