Man sentenced to 10 year imprisonment for attempting to murder wife

Kakinada, Mar 23(UNI) The Assistant Sessions Judge Pithapuram K Madhavi, while delivering her verdict on Thursday in a sensational case where a Railway employee attempted to murder his wife, convicted the accused Mummidi Subrahmanyam (47) and sentenced him to undergo imprisonment for ten years and pay a fine of Rs.5,000,police said.

The prosecution case was that the accused Subrahmanyam, a junior assistant in south eastern railway Bilaspur Managers office, who bore a grudge against his wife Subbalakshmi (30) for her refusal to transfer 10 acres of land to his name, made a vain bid on her life by sprinkling anesthesia on her face while she was asleep on May 25, 2018 night and stabbed her indiscriminately cutting her both hands up to wrist and also causing grievous injuries all over her body.
