Kolkata, May 30 (UNI) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Trinamool Congress National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee on Tuesday extended their solidarity with the
agitating wrestlers.
Addressing a presser at the State Secretariat Nabanna, Banerjee said, " Medal-winning wrestlers dishonoured by @BJP4India's antics. "
Stating that she stood in solidarity with the protesting wrestlers who have been "wronged", Banerjee said a rally will be organised on Wednesday from Hazra More till Rabindra Sarobar to show support.
"I had talk with them today and have expressed my solidarity. They are the pride of the Nation,"
she added.
Abhishek said, "India’s wrestlers are saying that they will dispose of their medals in the Ganga river. Can you imagine what rock-bottom the country has hit? "
"Our champion female athletes are being dragged on the streets. Is this @BJP4India's Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao? " he asked.
