New Delhi, Oct 31 (UNI) Malayalam film 'Olu' will open the Indian Panorama section of the 49th International Film Festival of India, 2018, it was announced on Wednesday.
Ali Abbas Zafar's 'Tiger Zinda Hai' , Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Padmaavat' and Meghna Gulzar's 'Raazi' also feature in the Indian Panorama section, a release from the Information and Broadcasting ministry said.
The Feature film Jury, headed by acclaimed film director and screenwriter Rahul Rawail, selected the film OLU, directed by Shaji N Karun as the Opening feature film of Indian Panorama 2018.
The Feature Film Jury selected 26 films in the Indian Panorama section, including 22 Feature films and four Mainstream films.
Four selected mainstream films include 'Tiger Zinda Hai', 'Padmaavat' and 'Raazi'.
Indian Panorama section includes five Bengali films, five Hindi films, five Malayalam films, four Tamil films, two Marathi film and one film each from Telugu, Tulu, Ladakhi and Jasari languages .
The films in the Indian Panorama Section of 49th International Film Festival of India, 2018 were selected by an Internal Committee of the directorate of film festival (DFF), based on the recommendations of Film Federation of India (FFI) and the GUILD.
The Feature Jury comprised of actor and filmmaker Major Ravi, director Ahathian, Director, Producer & Screenwriter Ujjwal Chatterjee, director Imo Singh, Filmmaker Utpal Datta, Director Sekhar Das, Director and writer Mahendra Teredesai, Actor and Screenwriter Haidar Ali, Journalist and columnist KG Suresh, Director, Producer and Screenwriter Chandra Siddarth, Cinematographer and Director Adeep Tandon and Film critic and journalist S Viswanath.
