Maha Min Jayant Patil assures additional water Maha's Marathwada

Aurangabad, Nov 29 (UNI) Amid the water shortage being faced by the people of Marathwada, Maharashtra NCP president and Minister for Water Resources Jayant Patil said 19.29 TMC water for Marathwada in central Godavari sub-basin and 44.54 TMC for Marathwada and Vidarbha in Panganga sub-basin will be provided soon.
"There are various schemes, projects that will be completed in the near future and the way will be open for Marathwada to get additional water. There is a huge shortage of water in Marathwada and it is my responsibility to do what we can to fill this shortage," said Patil during the felicitation programme organised by the Engineers Association on Sunday.

He also said, "The water resources department of the Maharashtra government has planned to provide 19.29 TMC of water for Marathwada in central Godavari sub-basin and 44.54 TMC for Marathwada and Vidarbha in Panganga sub-basin."

The minister and Water Resources Secretary Ajay Kohirkar were felicitated on behalf of Marathwada Engineers Friends Circle, Aurangabad.
"In the past, some projects in Marathwada were halted due to water shortage. It is now possible for these stalled projects in Marathwada to gain momentum, the huge water shortage is about to be filled. I am proud of all my engineers for this achievement," said Patil.

Health Minister Rajesh Tope said it is possible to bring water to Marathwada by lifting from Konkan.
