Maha: FIR registered against BJP MLAs in hate speech case

Mumbai, Apr 23 (UNI) The Maharashtra government on Tuesday informed the Bombay High Court that criminal cases have been registered against BJP MLA Nitesh Rane for giving alleged hate speeches in different parts of Mumbai, such as Malwani, Mankhurd, Ghatkopar.
FIR (first information report) is also registered against MLA Gita Jain for alleged hate speech in Mira-Bhayander town from January to March this year.
Making a statement before a bench of Justices Revati Mohite-Dere and Manjusha Deshpande, public prosecutor Hiten Venegavkar told the court that FIR is also registered against MLA Gita Jain for alleged hate speech in Mira-Bhayander from January to March this year and the same has been registered under sections 153A (promoting enmity between groups on ground of religion etc), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke) and 506 (criminal intimidation) and other relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code.
