Aurangabad, Jan 14 (UNI) The eight districts of Maharashtra's Marathwada region reported 243 fresh cases of COVID-19 during the past 24 hours, the health authorities informed on Thursday.
The region also recorded three deaths due to coronavirus during the same period.
Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI showed that out of the eight districts of the region, Beed district recorded 54 cases and 2 deaths, followed by Jalna with 12 cases and a single death, Nanded recorded 56 cases, Aurangabad district registered 35 cases, Osmanabad 29 new cases, Parbhani 26 cases, Latur 25 cases and Hingoli six cases.
As per the official data, 3,556 more corona cases and 70 deaths were reported from across the state during the past 24 hours, taking the state's cumulative tally to 19,78,044.
Meanwhile, 3,009 patients were cured and discharged from hospitals during the same period across the state, taking the total number of recoveries so far in Maharashtra to 18,74,279.
With this, the state's recovery rate has now risen to 94.75 per cent and the death rate stands at 2.54 per cent.
According to the health officials, so far a total of 50,221 patients have succumbed to the disease in the state while 52,365 patients are currently undergoing treatment across the state.
