Mah: Marathwada region register 321 new COVID cases, 1 death

Aurangabad, Dec 5 (UNI) The eight districts of Maharashtra's Marathwada region reported 321 fresh COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, health authorities said on Saturday.
The region also witnessed only single death due to COVID-19 in the same period.
Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI stated that out of the eight districts in the region, Aurangabad was the worst affected with 104 fresh cases and alone death, followed by Jalna with 47 new cases, Beed 44 cases, Latur 42 cases, Parbhani 31 cases, Nanded 26 cases, Osmanabad 21 cases and Hingoli 7 cases.
According to official data, 5,229 more corona cases and 127 deaths were reported across the state in the last 24 hours, taking the tally in the state to 18,42,587.
Meanwhile, 6,776 patients were cured and discharged from hospitals during the same period, taking the total number of recoveries to 17,10,050 in the state so far.
With this, the recovery rate has now gone up to 92.8 per cent and the death rate is at 2.59 per cent.
According to the health officials, so far 47,599 patients have succumbed to the disease in the state and 83,859 patients are currently undergoing treatment.
