New Delhi, Apr 17 (UNI) Lieutenant General PP Malhotra has assumed charge as Director General of National Cadet Corps (NCC), replacing Lt Gen BS Sahrawat.
NCC is one of the largest uniformed youth organizations in the world.
Lt Gen Malhotra’s distinguished professional career includes various regimental, staff and command appointments. Prior to assuming his present appointment, he was the Chief Engineer of the Army’s premier Northern Command, the Ministry of Defence said in a statement.
He is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Pune and was commissioned in the Corps of Engineers of the Indian Army on June 18, 1983.
A graduate of Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, the Lt Gen has also undergone the prestigious National Defence College course at New Delhi.
His qualifications include B.Tech from College of Military Engineering, Pune, M.Tech from IIT, Powaii, M. Phil from DAVV, Indore and M. Phil from Madras University.
