Lok Sabha polls: Cong releases 4th list of 46 candidates

New Delhi, Mar 23 (UNI) The Congress party on Saturday released the fourth list of 46 candidates for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, with prominent candidates being Digvijaya Singh from Rajgarh, Ajay Rai from Varanasi, Danish Ali from Amroha and Karti Chidambaram from Sivaganga.
The candidates are from Assam, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Mizoram, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand and West Bengal.
Out of 46 candidates, the party has selected one candidate each from Assam, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Chhattisgarh, Mizoram & West Bengal, two each from Jammu & Kashmir, Manipur & Uttarakhand, 12 from Madhya Pradesh, four from Maharashtra, three from Rajasthan, seven from Tamil Nadu and nine from Uttar Pradesh.
Out of the 46 seats, the party has left the Nagaur seat of Rajasthan for the RLP.
Meanwhile, the party also released 28 candidates for Assembly elections in Sikkim.
Earlier in the month, on March eight, the party released first list of 39 candidates, second list of 43 candidates on March 12 and third list of 57 candidates on March 21.

New Delhi, April 26 (UNI) Over 60 percent of nearly 16 crore voters exercised their democratic rights across 88 parliamentary constituencies in the second of the seven-phase general election on Friday,
"Polling in the second phase of General Elections 2024 which commenced at 7 AM today simultaneously across 88 PCs recorded an approximate voter turnout of 60.96% as of 7 PM," apex poll body Election Commission of India (ECI) said in a media release.
