LG visits Industrial area

Puducherry, May 27 (UNI) Puducherry Lt.Governor Kiran Bedi as part of her 80th early morning week end round visited industrial area at Vadamangalam and reviewed the beach nourishment project which is in progress.
According to a Raj Nivas release here today, she visited Vadamanagalam consequent to a representation from industries owners and service provider welfare association there that industries are being forced to contribute money for various local events, absence of median causing accidents on National Highway and among other things.
After hearing them, the Lt.Governor advised them to go to the police in case of such extortion and assured them of immediate action. She observed that technology should be harnessed for faster communication and crime prevention and accordingly a community Whatsapp group with Police, Commune Panchayat, PWD and electricity officials would be created for sharing grievances and quick redressal.The industries were advised to install CCTV cameras in their premises to serve as deterrence.
