LG gives 'in principle' approval for Delhi Govt proposal to take over Pvt schools not refunding excess fees

New Delhi, Aug 21 (UNI) Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal today gave an 'in principle' approval for the proposal of the Delhi Government to take over the 449 private schools who have not refunded the excess fee charged from the students, official sources said. 'The LG has given in principle approval to issue show cause notices to the schools who have not refunded the excess fee charged by them from the students. However, in doing so, the LG has said that proper procedure should be followed. It must be ensured that the quality of the education in Delhi schools does not suffer in any way,' the sources said. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had last week threatened that the Delhi Government would set off a procedure of take over of the private schools who have not refunded the excess fees charged from the students despite the directions from the state government.
