Ladakh Scouts Regiment team to climb unclaimed peak in Ladakh region

Srinagar, Sep 20 (UNI) The Ladakh Scouts Regiment (LSR) has yielded the maximum number of Indian Army Mountaineers, who have glorified the name of the India and Indian Army all around the world.
A defence ministry spokesperson Col Rajesh Kalia said one such expedition team of 1st Bttalion SCR was flagged off from Leh by Lt Gen PJS Punnu, GOC Fire and fury Corps yesterday for an unclimbed peak Pt 6876m (22559 feet) situated in Eastern Ladakh Region (J&K).
Col Kalia said that it is one of the most difficult peak of the region selected primarily due to its technicality in rock face, treacherous terrain, ice walls and all difficulties involved in conquering the summit.
