L&T Technology Services dedicates COVID Care Center in Mysuru

Mysuru, Jun 21 (UNI) L&T Technology Services, a global leading pure-play engineering services company, announced that it has dedicated a rural COVID Care Center (CCC) in Saragur, Mysuru as part of its CSR initiative, in partnership with Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement (SVYM).

In a statement issued here on Monday, it said that center was inaugurated by the Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, Dr C N Ashwathnarayan along with Mr Amit Chadha, Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director of L&T Technology Services, who was present virtually from Washington DC.

The CCC will serve a population of over three lakh tribals in the region. The 19-bed center has been built within 12 days using modular prefabricated technology. Each bed is equipped with oxygen supply, critical care medical equipment and all other necessary resources. The technology used here enables the safe management and care of patients, and the infrastructure is expected to benefit the local population for up to 15 years, enabling the people of Mysuru to continue availing the benefits of this key healthcare center.

Other dignitaries to grace the occasion included Mr S T Somashekhar, Mysuru District In-charge Minister (Minister of Cooperation), Mr. Anil Kumar C, Member of Legislative Assembly, and Dr R Balasubramaniam, Founder-President of the SVYM.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr Amit Chadha, CEO & Managing Director, L&T Technology Services said, ''I take this opportunity to compliment the Government of Karnataka for their tireless efforts in containing the present pandemic and would like to thank Dr. Ashwathnarayan and other distinguished leaders of the Karnataka Government for their inspiring statesmanship. A special note of appreciation for SVYM with whom we have worked to transform and uplift the lives of the local rural population.''
