Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 10 (UNI) Kerala reported 7 deaths due to COVID-19 on Monday whereas 1,184 people tested positive to the virus newly, 784 patients have recovered from the disease and 12,737 patients are under treatment in various districts, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said this evening.
Addressing a press conference here, the CM said "So far 22,620 people have been cured of COVID. Currently, 1,49,295 persons are currently under surveillance in various districts -- 1,37,419 are under observation at their homes or institutional quarantine centres and 11,876 in hospitals. 1,323 people were hospitalised today."
He also confirmed the COVID deaths of 7 people, Shiny (54) in Ernakulam district, Devdas (45) in Kollam district, Mohammed Kunji (68) in Kasargod district, Alvikutty (65) in Wayanad district, Nafisa (52) in Malappuram district, Abu Backer (64) in Kozhikode district and Jama (50) in Thiruvananthapuram district, taking the COVID death toll to 115 in the State.
