Kerala reports 18 COVID deaths, 2,910 new +ve cases: Health Minister

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 21 (UNI) Kerala reported 18 deaths due to COVID-19 on Sunday whereas 2,910 people tested positive to the virus, 3,022 patients have recovered and 39,285 patients are under treatment, Health Minister KK Shailaja said.
"Currently, 2,18,907 people are under observation in the State -- 1,93,129 are under home or institutional quarantine and 25,778 in hospitals. Total 2,681 people were admitted to the hospitals today. So far, 95,724 persons have recovered from Covid in the State," the Minister said in a press release here this evening.
Of the newly reported positive cases today, 2,653 people were infected through contact and the contact source of 313 was unknown. Total 36 of them have come back from overseas and 133 from other states. Total 88 healthcare workers were also infected.

Palakkad (Kerala), April 26 (UNI) In separate incidents across Kerala on Friday four people, including a booth agent, collapsed and died during the Lok Sabha polls. The deaths were reported in Ottapalam of Palakkad, Kuttichira in Kozhikode, Kakkazham in Alappuzha, and Tirur in Malappuram district.
