Kerala reports 151 new COVID cases, 132 recoveries, 2,130 patients under treatment: CM

Thiruvananthapuram, Jul 1 (UNI) Kerala reported 151 new active cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday while 132 infected people have tested negative and total 2,130 patients are under treatment in various districts, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said.
"There are currently 1,87,219 people under observation in different districts in the state. Of these, 1,84,388 are under home or institutional quarantine and 2,831 are in hospitals. Total 290 persons were admitted to the hospital today," the Chief Minister said while addressing a press conference at the Government Secretariat this evening.
"Of the newly diagnosed cases, 86 of them have come back from foreign countries and 51 from other states.13 are cases of infection through contact. A 68-year old who committed suicide in Kozhikode district on June 27 has also tested positive for COVID," he said.
