Kerala CM writes to Dr Jaishankar on arrest of BDJS leader Thushar in UAE

New Delhi, Aug 22 (UNI) Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday urged External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar to intervene and take note of the reports that Bharath Dharma Jana Sena (BDJS) president Thushar Vellappally has been arrested in UAE.
"I expressed concern about his well being and health while in custody. All possible help within the limits of the law needs to be made available to him. I request your kind personal attention and intervention in this regard", Mr Vijayan wrote in a letter to Dr Jaishankar.
Reports said Mr Vellappally, who contested against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi as NDA nominee Lok Sabha election in Wayanad, was arrested in Ajman by the UAE Police in connection with a cheque bounce case.
