Kerala BJP criticises Union MoS for malfunctioning in Vande Bharat Mission

Kochi, Jun 28 (UNI) A faction of BJP is unsatisfied over the activities of Union Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan in connection with Vande Bharat Mission to repatriate NRIs stranded in foreign countries due to COVID-19 pandemic.
The Krishnadas faction raised several allegations in the BJP core committee meeting that the minister's office was functioning in a way that caused disgrace to the party and its leaders, party sources said on Sunday.
They alleged that the suggestions made by BJP leaders regarding NRI repatriation was not fulfilled, but only decisions of Muslim League and Congress party were realised. All senior leaders except C K Padmanabhan attended the meeting.
Krishnadas faction alleged that instead of BJP, Congress has influence in the minister's office. A Congress woman has been appointed in the office and other parties were getting their demands fulfilled with her help.
Also there were allegations that the accused in Defence Research and Development Organisation corruption case visits the minister's office frequently.
The leaders also expressed dissatisfaction over the criticism by Muraleedharan against the state government. When the minister tried to make a controversy over the compliments of the central government to the state government, it resulted in a huge shame for the centre, they further alleged.
The meeting also discussed dividing duties to the leaders in order to focus on the strongholds of the party in the local body polls and making interventions in the central leadership to fill the vacancies in board and corporation levels.
