New Delhi, Jul 2 (UNI) Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday inaugurated country’s first ‘Plasma Bank’ at the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) here, and urged people to donate plasma and save lives of corona infected people.
Mr Kejriwal inaugurated the ‘Plasma Bank’ via video conference.
Addressing the media in a digital briefing, the CM said, that ”Plasma Bank is starting from Thursday.
It is the first plasma bank in the country to treat Corona. now people will not have much problem for plasma.”
“I also appeal to the media to motivate all people to donate plasma so that we can save the lives of as many Corona patients,” he said.
“If you have recovered from Covid-19 and your age is between 18 and 60 and your weight is above 50 kg, then you may donate plasma for Covid-19 patients.
However, women who have given birth or the persons with comorbidities, are not eligible to donate plasma,” the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief said.
“You cannot donate plasma if your weight is less than 50 kg, you have ever been pregnant, you are diabetic on insulin, your Blood Pressure is more than 140 and diastolic less than 60 or more than 90,” he said.
“You cannot donate plasma if you have uncontrolled diabetes or hypertension with change in medication in last 28 days, you are a Cancer Survivor or you have chronic kidney/heart/lung or liver disease,” he said.
“If you are eligible and willing to donate plasma, then you may call us at 1031 or you can whatsapp us at 8800007722. Our doctors will then get in touch with you to further confirm your eligibility,” he said.
“The Delhi Government will arrange for transport to the ILBS Hospital, or reimburse travel cost. If you've not yet been tested negative after being tested positive for Covid initially, we will arrange for you to be tested. We will provide refreshments during your visit to the Plasma Bank,” the CM added.
He/she will receive a Plasma Donor Certificate signed by the Chief Minister.
