Kashmir: Soft drink distributor, tile MNC fined for violating Metrology Laws

Srinagar, Feb 7 (UNI) A soft drink distributor and a Multi-National Company (MNC), which manufactures tiles, have been fined for violating Legal Metrology Laws in Kashmir valley.
An official spokesperson here today said that prompted by a complaint lodged by a senior citizen of Srinagar city against a distributor of soft drinks for selling him underweight 300 ml Coca-cola tins, the Legal Metrology Department (LMD) served a notice to the factory Manager, Hindustan Coca-Cola, Jammu for ascertaining the reasons of short-filling of Coca-Cola tins.
An expert team from the company visited the office and during the investigation it was found that the distributor has not maintained the storage conditions for stocking the product and as a result the aerated cold drinks had lost the gas content, he said.
