Ramanagara, Sep 14 (UNI) Karnataka government will pursue the Centre to give its clearance for the multi-purpose Mekedatu Project, across the Cauvery river in the state, Water Resources Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi said after visiting the proposed Mekedatu project site in Kanakapura taluk in Ramanagar district here on Monday.
Mr Jarkiholi informed that a high-level delegation led by Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa will meet the Central leaders on the issue in a couple of days.
Describing the Mekedatu project as the 'one of the important projects' of the state, he said, "The delegation will meet the Union Minister of Forests and Environment and present our case".
