Kamat urges govt to provide easy accessibility to persons with disabilities at govt depts, public places

Panaji, Nov 12 (UNI) Leader of Opposition in the Goa Legislative Assembly Digambar Kamat has urged Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to give directions to all concerned departments to bring uniformity in nomenclature and provide easy accessibility to persons with disability at various government departments and public places.
In a letter, copies of which were shared with media, Mr Kamat has brought to the notice of the Chief Minister about the nomenclature used for reserved seats or area in public transport buses and other public places referring to Persons with Disabilities as 'Handicapped'.
He asked Chief Minister to ensure that the nomenclatures were changed to 'Persons with Disability'. He also brought it to the notice of the Chief Minister about non-availability of easy access to them and demanded that immediate action be taken to make all government offices and other institutions etc 'Persons with Disability' friendly.
