June Uprising, Unity day observed in Manipur

Imphal, Jun 18 (UNI) The 19th Great June Uprising , Unity day was observed here today at Kekrupat to pay tribute and respects to 18 persons who died during the June uprising, 2001 to protect the territorial integrity of Manipur.
The UCM and AMUCO observed the day by only allowing members of the 18 martyrs and leaders of some organisations to attend the function in view of the Covid 19 outbreak.
Floral tributes were offered at the Kekrupat memorial complex and rituals performed. Chairman Observation Committee, Sunil Karam and other leaders of various communities spoke on the occasion. Devotional songs were presented by artists.
