Joint Commissioner (IT)'s office to conduct outreach programme

Panaji, Sep 7 (UNI) As a part of its awareness creation programme, the Office of the Joint Commissioner of Income tax, Range-1, Panaji, will be conducting an outreach programme cum seminar on September 11, 2019, at Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI)'s Convention Hall in the city.
According to a statement here, the seminar will cover the latest amendments in the Income Tax Act and also matters of general awareness like filing of returns, consequences for non-filing of returns, auditable cases, advance tax payments etc.
The main aim of the seminar is to educate the tax payers, to dispel any mis- conceptions that they may have about income tax return filing and for encouraging and assisting them towards voluntary compliance.
Presentations on various topics will be made by Income Tax Officer (ITO) Rajendran Perumal, ITO Rajesh Wanzari and ITO Anton Lobo.
Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax (DCIT) Rijula Uniyal will guide the seminar.
